WHO WE ARE
Empowering the Next Generation of Regional Educators
Woldia Teachers Education College is a premier public teacher training institution located in Woldia Town, North Wollo Zone, operating under the direct oversight of the Amhara National Regional State Education Bureau.
Established in 2008/09 (2001 E.C.) by accepting a pioneering cohort of 394 students supported by 21 instructors and 27 administrative personnel, the college has steadily expanded its academic footprint. Under the current leadership of Managing Dean Mr. Solomon Ayehu, our institution remains deeply committed to cultivating professional integrity and producing highly competent educators to serve regional schools.
To achieve our strategic vision of becoming a premier center of excellence by 2030 (2022 E.C.), we deliver standardized training at the certificate, diploma, and degree levels. Our institutional mandate relies on three fundamental pillars: executing high-quality teaching and learning, conducting vital problem-solving research on regional education issues, and actively embedding our faculty and students in community-based development programs.
The administrative framework utilizes a dedicated College Board alongside a collaborative Academic Commission, integrating critical units like the Registrar Office, Planning and Resource Mobilization, and the Procurement Team to guarantee transparent governance and efficient service delivery.
We systematically recruit and deploy qualified trainer-instructors according to strict guidelines, while maintaining comprehensive campus support systems-including advanced computer labs, library information services, an institutional Gender Unit, and guidance counseling to fully prepare our student-teachers for immediate classroom success across the country.
