Admissions & Programs

We offer teacher training programs at three distinct academic levels: Degree, Diploma, and Certificate (including Pre-Primary and Special Vocational tracks). These programs are available through Regular, Extension, and Summer learning options based on regional schooling demands.

Applicants must meet the official Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Certificate Examination (EHEECE) cutoff points set for the academic year by the Amhara National Regional State Education Bureau. You must also submit official preparatory school transcripts, a certificate of clean record, and passport-sized photographs to the Registrar Office.

Tuition for Extension and Summer modular programs is calculated on a per-credit-hour or per-module basis. Current cost structures can be obtained directly from the Finance and Procurement Team or the Registrar Office prior to the start of the semester registration period.

Academic Departments & Units

Woldia Teachers Education College operates six core academic departments: Language, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Aesthetics, and Pedagogy.

The PRC serves as a specialized practical workshop where student-teachers design, create, and test innovative classroom instructional aids and learning models before starting their real-world school placements.

The Guidance and Counseling Office provides continuous, confidential personal mentorship, emotional well-being advice, and tailored academic advising to help students navigate their educational and professional journeys.

Student Life & Support Services

Our campus Medical Services unit delivers essential healthcare, immediate first aid, safety awareness programs, and basic outpatient treatment to all active students and faculty members.

Our dedicated Gender Unit is an official branch of the Academic Commission. It actively works to safeguard equal campus opportunities, run awareness workshops, and ensure a highly inclusive and secure learning environment for all demographics.

Yes. Through our Training and Monitoring Office, all teacher-trainees participate in intensive teaching practicums and field placements across a network of local primary and middle schools in the North Wollo Zone to gain real classroom experience.

The College Board is our supreme regulatory body, which is directly accountable to the Regional Education Bureau. It audits institutional financial statements, monitors good governance, and approves annual strategic work plans.
